Hip Hop
This high-energy class explores a range of hip-hop styles including old school, breaking, tutting, vogueing, and commercial choreography. Dancers develop rhythm, coordination, musicality, and performance skills while also learning the history and evolution of hip-hop culture, staying connected to its roots and foundational movement styles. This class is FUN!! Students build confidence while gaining the understanding of performance quality in hip-hop routines-it’s all about story telling and that means more FACE!
Dress code: loose, comfortable clothing is acceptable for this class along with fitted tank tops, or leggings. All shorts should be TIGHT compression shorts. No jeans, or jewelry. Please make sure hair is pulled back and out of face.
Shoe requirements:
Levels 1-3 need black dance sneakers.
Levels 4-6 can choose their own sneakers; approved by the teacher first
Please note: Dance shoes should not be worn outside of the studio (For example, to and from the car!)
