Class Placement Guidelines
We adhere to these guidelines to create our classes. Class placements are based on the individual and where they will succeed. Age does not guarantee class placement. All new dancers will be evaluated before placed in the classes to see where they fit best.
Creative Dance & Pre-Dance Classes
Placements are based on age and ability, with teacher evaluation guiding us toward the most appropriate fit. We aim to place each child in the environment where they can experience joy, success, and progress at their own pace.
Level 1 Classes (Ages 7+)
Designed for students ages 7 and older who are ready for more structured approach to technique. At this stage, dancers typically have the focus, body awareness, and physical development needed to begin exploring foundational elements like turnout, coordination, and discipline.
Level 2 (Ages 8+)
For dancers continuing their training with at least a basic foundation. here classes build on level 1 concepts and begin to refine technique and artistry.
Levels 3, 4, 5, 6 (Ages 10+)
These are our upper-level technique classes and require a minimum of two years of previous dance experience. Placement is based on an evaluation with a faculty member to ensure that each dancer is places at the level where they will be challenged appropriately while still feeling confident in their skills.
Pointe
Dancers interested in pointe must have at least two years or prior ballet technique and will need to undergo a pointe readiness assessment. If you are interested in pursing pointe, please reach out to feetfirstdance710@gmai.com to schedule an evaluation.
Adult Dancers
We are proud to welcome adult dancers of all ages and level of experience. Our adult program is growing, and it’s a joy to see this vibrant community take shape. Class levels for adults are flexible and based on the dancers currently enrolled. Contactfeetfirstdance710@gmail.comto be properly placed in the right class.
We are committed to helping every dancer find the right path, the right pace, and the right place to grow. If you have questions about placement or are unsure where your dancer fits best, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Tuition Pricing
Tuition Policies
Each dance season consists of two seventeen-to-nineteen-week sessions depending on our recital date. It is important to remember that a dance education is a continual process. The system of sessions is solely for billing purposes. The design of the curriculum at Feet First is that of a continual and progressive program of study.
All new students must fill out a registration form. Returning students can enroll in the Parent Portal. Tuition is payable per semester in one single payment prior to the first lesson. Please reach out to us if this causes a financial burden to you and we can make personal arrangements. If your payment is late, a $10.00 late fee will be added to your account.
Once your registration is received, we will post an invoice to your portal account. You can either drop a check in the mail or pay on-line with a bank ACH or credit card.
You will be auto-enrolled in the second semester unless you have spoken to your instructors and stated otherwise. Tuition invoices will be automatically posted to student accounts in late December or early January.
Once students are fully registered and paid for classes there will be a 2 week grace period for adjusting their schedules. Meaning, if your dancer decides to drop a class during this two week period, we will give you a credit towards next session. Students that drop two weeks after the semester starts will not receive a credit, or any form of a refund.
Tuition is non-refundable. No deductions will be made for classes missed. Make-up classes are available. This includes on-line classes if mandated.
A $30.00 annual registration fee per family is required at the time of registration.
A $10.00 late fee is charged for any delayed tuition payments.
A $20.00 fee is charged for returned checks.
Make all checks payable to Feet First Dance
If interested in a payment plan, please refer to our policies page for more information

The costume deposit will be refunded if the student does not continue with lessons into the second semester. The costume fee is not refundable after January 15th.When the costume fee exceeds $50.00 the student will be responsible for the balance. The faculty makes every effort to keep costumes at a reasonable cost.
There are other performance related expenses, including photographs, flash drive and tickets. There is a mandatory $30.00 performance fee per student, due in the second semester.
Our tuition is based on a scale with discounts for additional hours of Class. Since not all classes are 1 hour, the actual billing amount may vary by a little, but here is the basic class cost breakdown:

If the credit card is declined more than once, you will be removed from the payment plan and be responsible for paying your full tuition by the set tuition deadlines..
Attendance Policies
If a student misses a class it is their responsibility to make up that class by taking another class of their level. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to explore other genres of dance and experience other teachers.
Students who miss for school plays, or other school activities or commitments do not receive money back or a discount on tuition for missed classes. It is their job to communicate with us when they will be absent. We encourage you to reach out to your school to try to work out a schedule including your dance classes.
Inclement Weather Policy
If a class is missed due to inclement weather, the teacher will NOT be holding a makeup for that class. Our make up policy, will carry over for one studio closure as well. What does this mean? If your dancer cannot attend their class due to illness, school activities, or other reasons, they can make up that missed class by taking another class of a different genre, but in their same level OR take the level below the genre they are missing to focus on enhancing their skills. Therefore, if ONE class is missed due to weather, dancers will make that up by taking another class. If weather causes us to miss more classes we will schedule a make up class. Please email feetfirstdanceam@gmail.com with any questions in regards to what would be a good makeup for your dancer. We also ask you email us when you will be making up a class so we can inform the instructor.
