Jazz

This energetic class blends Broadway and commercial jazz styles with a strong focus on technique, musicality, and performance. Dancers develop skills such as turns, leaps, isolations, and coordination while exploring choreography rooted in both musical theater and commercial dance. Classes also connect to the history and evolution of jazz dance, honoring its cultural roots and ongoing influence.

Dress code: Tight form fitted clothing-leotards, tank tops, leggings are all acceptable. No baggy t-shirts or sweat pants. It is important for the teacher to see the dancers body alignment. Hair should be pulled up and out of the dancers face. No jewelry. 

Shoes required for this class:

• Girls: Tan jazz shoes

• Boys: Black jazz shoes 

Please note: Dance shoes should not be worn outside of the studio (For example, to and from the car!)
